What is Location Tracker: GPS Friends?
It is an iPhone app for consent-based location sharing with trusted friends and family. It includes private invites, a shared map, saved places, arrival and departure alerts, nearby search, routes, and manual SOS location sharing.
Can Location Tracker find someone by phone number?
No. A phone number alone cannot reveal live GPS location. A number can help prepare an invitation, but the other person must accept and enable location sharing.
Does the other person need the app?
The other person must join the Location Tracker service through your private invitation and enable location sharing before their position can appear.
How do private invites work?
You can share an invite link, rotating six-character code, or QR code. Only share invites with people you trust.
Can I pause location sharing?
Yes. You can pause sharing without deleting your circle. Pausing sharing clears the last server-side coordinates.
Can I remove a friend or delete my account?
Yes. You can remove a friend at any time. The in-app delete account action removes your server account, connections, and shared location.
What are location alerts?
They are arrival and departure reminders based on a radius around a place. Alerts while the app is closed may require Always Location Access in iOS settings.
Does SOS contact emergency services?
No. SOS prepares your current coordinates and lets you choose a trusted contact or app. Nothing sends automatically, and the app does not contact emergency services.
How accurate is the live location?
Accuracy and update timing depend on the device, permissions, connectivity, battery state, and iOS system limits. A location can be delayed or inaccurate.
Does Location Tracker recover a lost or stolen phone?
No. For your own lost iPhone, use Apple Find My. Contact local authorities and your mobile carrier if a phone was stolen.
What iPhone version is required?
Location Tracker requires iOS 17 or later.
Is the app free?
The app supports ad-supported access and an optional weekly premium subscription. Current pricing and availability are shown by Apple in the App Store and can vary by region.
